Udayana Cardiology Residents Participated in Family Gathering of PERKI Bali

On December 17-18 2022, PERKI Bali Family Gathering was held at the Westin Nusa Dua Hotel. This event is an annual event organized by PERKI Bali as a form of friendship between its members. Likewise the participants in the Family Gathering event did not only come from Bali but also from other cities such as Jakarta and Bandung (cardiologists alumni of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University). This year's Family Gathering is the first time it has been held since 3 years of not being able to take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, this Family Gathering event this time is a special one because in the end, after going through the Covid-19 pandemic together, the Family Gathering event can finally be held again.

This year's Family Gathering was held for 2 days; For the first day, December 17th 2022, as a form of dedication by cardiologists to the community, social work was held in the Benoa area. The social work began with a healthy heart exercise which was attended by all patients, residents and cardiologists who were present at the time. After that, a physical examination and free treatment were carried out as well as echocardiography screening for congenital heart disease for children. This activity was also filled with counseling by dr. Made Satria Yudha Dewangga, Sp.JP K.Ped.P.J.B. (K) regarding early detection of congenital heart disease. Community enthusiasm was seen from the large number of people who came and participated in these activities.

After the social work was held, the activity continued with the Scientific Gathering which was held at the Nusa Dua Restaurant. The Scientific Meeting was presented by dr. Wayan Aryadana, SpJP(K), FIHA, FICA FAsCC, FSCAI, dr. I Kadek Susila Surya Darma, SpJP, FIHA, and Dr. dr. I Ketut Rina, SpPD, SpJP(K), FIHA, FAsCC, FSCAI as the speaker, led by dr. I Putu Parwata Jaya, SpJP, FIHA as moderator. The material presented was Dyslipidemia Management in CCS Patient: Role of 3rd generation water soluble statins, Unleash Benefit of Metoprolol Succinate in CCS - Applying Evidence into Practice, and Fixed dose combination in hypertension: focus on triple combination.

After that the Scientific Meeting was followed by a second session at the Westin Nusa Dua Hotel, which was hosted by dr. I Ketut Susila, SpJP(K), FIHA, FAsCC and dr. I Nyoman Wiryawan, SpJP(K), FIHA, FAPSC with the topic Balancing Risk and Benefit Of DOAC In Elderly AF Patients and Beyond stroke prevention – Renal preservation in anticoagulant use led by dr. Hendy Wirawan, SpJP, FIHA as moderator.

The event then continued with the Peak Night of the Family Gathering, namely a Gala Dinner with the theme of The Great Gatsby; all Family Gathering participants come wearing a dress code based on the theme. The event took place with great fanfare, filled with performances from cardiologists and cardiology residents at Udayana University. The Crazy Horse band was also present to enliven the atmosphere. The event was closed with dr. I Gusti Ngurah Putra Gunadhi, Sp.JP(K) sang and danced with the cardiology residents.

The second day, December 18, 2022, the Family Gathering event begins in the morning with joint exercise on the beach followed by games that further strengthen the closeness between cardiologists and cardiology residents with each other. It is a very valuable opportunity to be able to organize this event after 3 years we have had to keep our distance from each other due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
